Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Health Care
The Scientific Institute Eugenio Medea is the scientific section of the Association “La Nostra Famiglia”, a no-profit organization of social utility whose purpose is to promote and safeguard health care, education and services for people with special needs.
Our mission reflects our institutional duty: to promote biomedical and health research in close association with clinical practice to test new rehabilitation techniques while improving the existing ones.
Medea is carrying out a long-term research program in order to contribute significantly to knowledge of child and adolescent neurological and neuropsychiatry disorders.
Epidemiological and biomedical research criteria guide the clinical and scientific activity through:
- epidemiological studies implying a longitudinal approach on all treated diseases
- experimental validation of the research data in cellular and animal models
- thorough investigation of related psychological and social aspects
- evaluation and follow-up of the rehabilitation outcomes
